QUOTE OF THE DAY: “LIVING STARTS WHEN THE UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR PURPOSE COMES TO YOU”
Memory Verse: “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”. Psalms 90:12.
Life is not all about enjoyment but about fulfillment. To experience real living is to operate within God’s purpose for one’s life. To exist is to operate outside God’s purpose for one’s life. Jesus Christ could afford to choose not to die for us as destined and continue to enjoy life but at the end of it all, He would have been the greatest failure that ever existed.Nothing would have happened if Joseph had decided to succumb to Portiphar’s wife’s pressure of sex but invariably his dreams and destiny which conferred on him the right to live would have been shattered and battered. In life, it is either you are living or existing.
[pullquote]Jesus Christ could afford to choose not to die for us as destined and continue to enjoy life but at the end of it all, He would have been the greatest failure that ever existed.[/pullquote]Hear this; life does not count the day you are born but the day the understanding of something came to you. Abram merely existed for 70 years, completely outside purpose, going off track and totally alien to God, until He discovered God. As far as Abraham was concerned, living started at the age of 70. Counting days is just a numerical progression but numbering days as instructed in Psalm 90:12 is about apportioning the day to its achievement.
How old are you now? Make a thorough assessment of the number of years you have spent so far on earth, which fraction of it was spent in God’s original purpose and which fraction was wasted outside God’s purpose. It is never too late to pause and realign yourself. Time flies, you may not realize it. Life is too precious to be wasted on non-essentials. Receive grace now to discover and encounter God in your life’s voyage. You won’t run life at a loss.
Make the rest of your life purposeful. You are blessed.
