IS YOUR CONVICTION STRONG?

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “EVERY CONVICTION WILL HAVE ITS’ CONFRONTATION”

Memory Verse: “I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. Psalms 27:13.

Every conviction will one day have either verbal or attitudinal confrontations or even both as the case may be. But it is the knowledge you have in God that will help in conquering all your confrontations. Here is an illustrative story: During the Russian cold war within the time of iron curtains, a Russian man was arrested for his faith in Christ. He refused to renounce Christ, so he spent 25 years in prison with daily torturing. At an interval of weeks, they would drag him into interrogation room to coerce him into renouncing Christ but he refused and he continued to lead his fellow prisoners to Christ.

[pullquote]…it is the knowledge you have in God that will help in conquering all your confrontations[/pullquote]One day, as he was being dragged into the interrogation room and tied to the chair, he cried out in his heart ‘God, I do not think I can take it anymore, I am at my end’. The Lord then spoke softly to his spirit, ‘Give that captain a word from God’. So the prisoner said, ‘I have a word for you from God’. The atheist guard laughed and said; ‘Go ahead, I am listening’. ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm’. The statement infuriated the guard. He raised up his hand to slap the prisoner and he fell over, dead of a massive heart attack at 39 years of age. His body was carted out of the room.

A lieutenant who came in to take over from the dead man also had similar experience – fell and died of a massive heart attack at age 28. The next guard came in and warned everyone present. ‘Do not touch that man because his God will kill you’. From that day, no one touched or abused him.

Were it not for his deep knowledge of God, he would have renounced God at the peak of his sufferings and died. Moses’ conviction of his assignment being from God was tested by Pharaoh and his magicians. Elijah’s conviction of serving the true God was confronted on Mount Carmel. Your conviction about your course of action, faith in God and the depth of your knowledge about Him is what can subdue every challenge.
