QUOTE OF THE DAY: “OFFENCES ARE A FACT OF LIFE”
Memory Verse: “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him”. John 6:66.
People may be instrumental to your progress in life but you must know that nobody was created to please you. Just as you cannot please everyone, you cannot expect that everyone you have an encounter with will do all you expect. Everyone was created with a specific purpose in life.
As each person tries to discover it or in pursuance of it, he may have to make some significant realignments and transitions that may edit you out of the picture. At a certain point, keeping you in his equation or circle of relationships may constitute a clog in the wheel of his life’s pursuit. You must learn to live with that. Even your children will have to leave you at some point in their lives when their capacity grows beyond your roof. A family of your own is proof that you left your parents!
For instance, in Acts 13, Paul and Barnabas were commissioned for ministry the same day. They did the work of the ministry together successfully well. But in Acts 15, they had to go their separate ways when it was obvious that they could not agree on issues of principles. Yet their ministries did not come to an end, neither did the preaching of the gospel suffer. [pullquote]Everyone was created with a specific purpose in life. You didn’t like how they treated you? It’s not fair? Well, life itself is not necessarily fair. Your experience may be unique but it is not peculiar. The best you can do with relationships that God brings into your life is to maximize the benefits of those relationships while they last and be grateful for whatever they contribute to your life. Learn to be comfortable with people leaving you as you are with people entering into your life. Finally, find your solace in God. It is better that you remain an enigma in the eyes of those trying to hurt you than for you to be reduced to the level of the hurt. Keep them wondering. It is well.
