QUOTE OF THE DAY: “YOUR NET WORTH IS NOT THE BASIS OF YOUR SELF-WORTH”

Memory Verse: “Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions”. Luke 12:15.

In a world that celebrates glamour and physical possessions, how do you handle obscurity? Do you chafe under it? Do you secretly resent the up-line folks? Before you answer, think about this: there was only one Moses whose amazing career spans four Old Testament books. And only one Paul who was called for something else. Each of us is important. Valuables do not make you more valuable. In Acts 9:10-19, Ananias showed up only once in the Bible, led Saul of Tarsus to Christ, then promptly exits. This does not however means he is lesser in value than Paul or Moses whose names appeared severally in the scriptures.

This is the time you should say no and reject such thoughts. [/pullquote]Have you heard about the one-note musician? She inspected her violin, took her seat in the orchestra, arranged her music and tuned up her instrument. As the concert proceeded the conductor cued one group of musicians after another until finally the crucial moment arrived. It was time for her one note to be played. The conductor signaled, she sounds her note and the moment was over. Just like that! The orchestra played only one note but with a sense of fulfillment that she played it in time, on time and with great confidence!

Somebody’s size, achievement or affluence may want to dominate you or introduce a sense of inferiority. This is the time you should say no and reject such thoughts. If not, you may psychologically sentence yourself into oblivion. First, your value was established at the cross. When others overlook you, stop and remind yourself’; God values me so highly that He thought I was worth dying for’. Finally, your worth is the amount of God that is in you. It is also in your contribution to life. Are you a child of God? Are you making positive impact in your generation? If yes, then you are of a tremendous value. Relax, enjoy the week.

PROPHETIC PRAYERS

• Lord, I am grateful because I am valuable so much that I am worth dying for.
• Thoughts of inferiority complex are hereby silenced in Jesus name.
• Lord, restore, revalidate the confidence I have in myself and the one I have in you.
• As I step out today, let me operate with the consciousness that I am what I am through Christ. Let me enjoy more of your grace.
