ARE YOU DEFEATED?

Memory Verse: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world”. 1 John 4:4.
Life is about overcoming. What makes life worth living, and what gives it its beauty are the challenges we encounter on a daily basis. You conquer one mountain, and then before you know it you are faced with the next – a bigger one. Jesus knew this, that was the reason He encouraged His disciples to cheer up in John 16:33. Any encounter of failure or defeat in your earthly voyage is momentary because there are better days, and greater celebrations ahead. There are people like you who once encountered defeats in their struggle for success. Some were completely written off by their fellows.

But the third time he was accepted, and marched into the history books. Rudyard Kipling received a rejection letter from the San Francisco Examiner saying, ‘sorry Mr. Kipling, but you just do not know how to use the English Language’.
Similarly, ‘after a lifetime of defeats, at 62, Winston Churchill became one of Britain’s greatest Prime Ministers. Enrico Caruso’s music teacher told him he had ‘no voice at all and could not sing’. By age 46, Beethoven was completely deaf, yet he wrote five of his greatest symphonies without hearing a note. These people bounced back from their initial position of defeat. Some of them broke world records. The truth is; defeat and failure can be perpetual and psychological if you are seeing your present challenges only in the light of your own limited strength and resources.
Those who confront life’s challenges with the mentality of their limited wisdom, strength and resources will attempt very little and will always fail. Real giants have all been weak people who did great things for God because they reckoned in His power and His presence to be with them. There is someone in you, greater than the challenge before you. So go in His might. You are an overcomer. Keep rising.
DIVINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY:
FIND SOMEONE TO JOIN HANDS WITH IN A PRAYER OF AGREEMENT AND IT SHALL BE AS YOU DECREE.
PROPHETIC PRAYERS
- I lean on Your strength now; let my life be sustained to the end.
- I depend on God’s grace; it shall be sufficient for me in Jesus name.
- Keep me stable in You oh Lord, lest I wander away from your presence.
- I decree today, the remaining encounter in my life’s voyage shall be victorious in Jesus name.
