QUOTE OF THE DAY: “GOD CAN DO MORE WITH FEW POEPLE”

Memory Verse: “But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go”. Judges 7:4.

You do not need a lot of people in your life, you just need the right people. Sometimes the more the people, the more the problem, and the more the confusion. When Gideon was out-numbered by the Midianites, he chose 32,000 men to fight. Then God stepped in and said ‘I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not’. God eventually kept 300 and dismissed the rest because they did not have the right attitude… (Judges 4:3).

Amidst multitude you will find sycophants, rebels, Satan’s incarnate and the faithful ones. Just like God told Gideon, you do not worry about numbers; God can still do more with less. Just because somebody is gifted does not mean they belong in your life. If spiritual gifts are the standard by which we measure, Balaam’s donkey goes to the top of the list because it prophesied. [pullquote]Sometimes the more the people, the more the problem, and the more the confusion. [/pullquote]The real question is, ‘do they have the right spirit? Only God who sees and knows the mind of man can help you select the people you need in your life.

Sometimes God adds to us, other times He subtracts. At all times He knows what He’s doing, so trust Him. Get ready to lose some friends for where God’s taking you they can’t go. They will tell you, you are too young, too old, too uneducated, not the right race or gender, or it will cost you too much and take too long. Do not argue, just love them, pray for them and tell them, ‘the just shall live by faith’ (Romans 1:17) and keep going. God told Moses He would take the spirit that rested on him and put it on 70 others so they could carry the load with him (Numbers 11:16-17).

That is what you need – people with the same spirit, attitude and outlook as you. Your efforts shall multiply and yield results. God will make your enemies play ignorantly into your hands. Keep soaring. It is well!

• I shall not fall into the hands of my enemy; make divine help available for me at all times.
