QUOTE OF THE DAY: “IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN, FINAL APPOVAL IS GOD’S PREROGATIVE”
Memory Verse: “King David rose to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it. But God said to me, ‘You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood”.
1 Chronicles 28:2-3.
Have you had a plan to do certain things either for God, for someone or for yourself and something else happened that was completely different from your initial plans? This might be divine interruption. God does interrupt people’s plan in order to establish and execute His pre-ordained plans. (Philippians 2:13). He does this mostly by getting you frustrated, stuck or He may cause you to fail outrightly.
However, this is not to say that all frustrations, stagnations and failures are from God. Your ignorance may get you frustrated and stuck. God sometimes also interrupts us in order to get our undistracted attention and force us back on –[pullquote]God does interrupt people’s plan in order to establish and execute His pre-ordained plans. (Philippians 2:13).[/pullquote]track. For instance, Balaam’s donkey, according to Numbers 22:23-30, that stopped running and spoke like a man, the first ever in history, was God’s deliberate attempt to stop Balaam who was stubbornly on his way to cursing the Israelites.
Also, Vincent’s passion for ministry led him to the Belgian Coalfields where he preached to minors, tended the injured, fed the hungry and earned a place in the people’s minds. His church was actually filled to capacity with those eager to learn about Jesus. But his superiors were not happy because Vincent cast-offs, lived in a shack and gave his salary to the people. One day, his bosses disagreed with him and he was dismissed from the ministry. He was hurt and angry because his only desire had been to build a church that glorifies God; so why did God disallow that? Invariably the young preacher who was rejected by his denomination eventually became an artist the world will long remember: Vincent van Gogh.
How do you react to divine interruptions in your life? Do you fuss and fume, or do you look for His hand in them? Analyze every interruption on your way; learn your lessons from it. Submit to God without argument if God’s hands are in it, because it will be for your own good at the end. Today, you will experience the mercy of God. Stay blessed!
DIVINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY
RUN A COMB THROUGH YOUR HAIR AND PRAY, AS THIS COMB RUNS THROUGH MY HAIR EASILY, SO LET
ME HAVE AN EASY SAIL THROUGH IN LIFE.
- Oh Lord, step into my affairs and prevent me from going astray.
- I refuse to struggle with you oh Lord; I surrender my life to You; take control from now.
- Empower me to overcome all obstacles on my way; take me to the promise land.
- In destiny I shall not fail; I shall not fall; I shall not disappoint my Creator in Jesus name.
