QUOTE OF THE DAY: “THOSE WHO RUN AFTER MONEY NEVER REALLY CATCH UP WITH IT”
Memory Verse: “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless”. Ecclesiastes 5:10.
If your goal is to prosper in order to fulfill God’s purposes, money will naturally be your reward and friend. But if otherwise, you may pursue money for a lifetime and never get it. Besides too much quest for money may push you into some illegal and ungodly activities like murder, rituals, robbery and so on. 1 Timothy 6:10 says ‘For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil…’. Sometimes, money power may be limited, and may out-rightly fail. There are things one cannot exchange for money no matter the magnitude of one’s wealth. Where the power of money fails, some things can exhibit power stronger than money. For instance, position, relationship, wisdom, timely information and so on. These are some areas of limitation of money power:
[pullquote]If your goal is to prosper in order to fulfill God’s purposes, money will naturally be your reward and friend.[/pullquote]Money can buy people, but not true friends: for instance Christina Onassis, one of the richest women in the world, had to lure someone to play tennis with her and go to supper with her. She had so much money she could not spend it all, yet she lived an empty, lonely life because her money never got her true friends. Those she got were takers, not givers.
Money buys food, but not a healthy appetite. Money can buy you a comfortable bed but not sound sleep. Money can buy books but not intelligence. So, true friends, relationships, sound health, sleep, peace of mind, appetite and intelligence, among several others are the things that only God can provide. These are the dividends that naturally and effortlessly accrue to those who love and fear God. Put God in the centre stage of your mind. Make Him the Lord of your life. Put Him first in all things, value relationships. Do not be-little fellow human beings because people are the greatest asset you can have. Spend your time on adding value to people.
Finally, look for problem to solve and money will be your friend. Have a wonderful day!
