QUOTE OF THE DAY: “CONSEQUENCES OF ANGER ARE MORE GRIVEOUS THAN THE CAUSE”

What is anger? Anger is a universally expressed human emotion. It could also be described as a reaction normally triggered by feelings towards a situation, utterances or character. Words and actions influenced by uncontrolled anger can devastate beyond our initial intentions and imaginations. Hence, this is where moderation must come in. Hear what Paul admonished the Ephesians: ‘Be angry, and do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down on your wrath (Ephesians 4:26). Have you ever felt angry toward a person or situation and wondered if your feelings were appropriate? Has your anger ever caused you to say or do something you later regretted? Quite a large number of people around the world have experienced this.
One of those who later regretted his actions was General Marcus Claudius who was in charge of some Roman troops during the second Punic War that broke out in Syracuse having captured the city of Syracuse after a two-year-long siege. Archimedes, a famous Greek mathematician, Engineer, Physicist who resided in Syracuse at that time was coincidentally contemplating a mathematical diagram when the city was captured. A Roman soldier, under the instruction of General [pullquote]Have you ever felt angry toward a person or situation and wondered if your feelings were appropriate? Has your anger ever caused you to say or do something you later regretted?[/pullquote]Marcus commanded Archimedes to come and meet the General but he declined, saying he had to finish working on the problem.
Consequently, the soldier got uncontrollably enraged by this, and killed Archimedes with his sword. Interestingly, Archimedes was carrying mathematical instruments and was killed because the soldier thought that they were weapons. General Marcellus who summoned Archimedes was reportedly angered and regretful by the untimely death of Archimedes, as he considered him a valuable scientific asset and had ordered that he not be harmed. What a regretful action. How should you respond when someone or something triggers your anger switch? Examine the situation before responding. Carefully consider your next step.
Bath your attitude and thoughts in love before confronting the object of your anger. Finally look inward, there may be a lesson in this for you to learn. Today, evil will not take any advantage of you. Enjoy your day!

- Holy Spirit, constantly put me on guard lest Satan take undue advantage of me.
- May I never take a step or make a decision that would land me in regret later in Jesus name.
- Let me grow more in maturity and in patience; increase my ability to get along with people from today.
