QUOTE OF THE DAY: “CREATIVITY EMERGES WHEN IMAGINATION TRANSCENDS THE REALM OF LIMITATIONS”

Memory Verse: “Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth”. Genesis 11:4.

Human mind functions in an amazing way; it is expansive. It functions like a factory where products of diverse kinds are churned out. It is the ground on which the seed of greatness, invention, creativity and innovations are sown and nurtured – Proverbs 4:23.

Therein lies the creative instinct. The amazing way in which the mind functions really makes all humans true extension of God. Interestingly, the creative instinct in man gets paralyzed at the slight consciousness and acceptance of limitations. Do you still wonder why inventors are strange sets of human beings? – Limitations and impossibilities never exist in their world!

Henry Ford gave the world the V8 engine. He did not have much of formal education; in fact, he did not go to school beyond the age of 14. He was intelligent enough to know that a V8 engine would be of great value to his company but he did not know how to build it. According to all his highly educated or qualified people, a V8 was impossible. But Henry Ford insisted on having his V8.

The impossibility of producing a V8 engine flew in the mind of all the engineers that surrounded him for many months and still Henry Ford insisted; ‘I want my V8’. Interestingly, the continual verbal declaration of V8 Engine by Henry Ford gradually deleted the thought of impossibility that was initially resident in the minds of his engineers. And shortly thereafter, the same people who said it was impossible produced his V8 engine. How? They let their imagination run beyond any form of limitation. Now, here is what Henry Ford said; ‘I am looking for a lot of men with infinite capacity for not knowing what cannot be done’.

When you do not know your limitations, you wonder if you had any limitations to begin with. You can also deal with some limitations, especially their source. Avoid friends that talk, see or transmit impossibility.

Avoid being in an atmosphere saturated by words, thoughts and pictures of impossibility. Saturate your mind with the word of God. Read biographies of inventors and books that will trigger the expression of the creative instinct in you. Receive fresh inspiration now to create like God. See, you on top!
